About the Hillingdon Arts Association (HAA)

The Hillingdon Arts Association (HAA) was established in the 1960s by the newly formed London Borough of Hillingdon. Its primary purpose was to manage the distribution of an annual Council grant to support voluntary arts groups in the area. Since its inception, the HAA has been a passionate advocate for the performing, musical, visual, literary, and craft arts within the borough.

Registered Charity Status

In 2004, the HAA became a registered charity. Its objectives are:

  1. To promote the voluntary arts sector for public benefit within the Borough of Hillingdon by providing advice, support, assistance, and resources to voluntary arts organisations and charities.
  2. To advance public education and appreciation of the arts, fostering knowledge, enjoyment, and participation in the arts among both audiences and practitioners within the borough.

Today

The HAA brings together a vibrant membership, including societies, associations, groups, organisations, clubs, classes, and individuals. These members are dedicated to producing, teaching, and celebrating a wide range of arts and crafts, enriching the communities of Hillingdon and West London.
