CREATING THE CITATION
You are advised to use your favourite Word Pocessor or Text Editor to create the wording for the citation, so that you can get it just the way you want it. Then, after first SAVING it, Cut and Paste it into the Form Below. The box for the citation below can be expanded by dragging the bottom right hand corner to the right or down (or both). Even if it is not all shown, it is still there and will be sent to the Awards Officer. If you use the Print Button it will only print the same as is shown on the screen.
DATES FOR MAKING A NOMINATION
Nominations can be made at any time, and if received by 31st March in any year, will be entered into that year.

WHAT THE AWARDS ARE FOR.
Awards are made for distinguished service to the Arts.
Also for outstanding ability in performance, for promising young talent, for administration and for any other notable contribution to the Arts approved by the Awards Panel.
WHAT HAPPENS NEXT.
All nominations will be placed before the Awards Panel for approval. Not more than 12 will be approved in any one year except in exceptional circumstances.
Awards will take the form of Certificates of Merit which will be presented at an Awards Ceremony ( usually by The Mayor) to take place at the Annual General Meeting of the HAA usually in July.
WHO CAN NOMINATE AND BE NOMINATED.
Any person can be nominated.
Those who can make nominations (nominators) include the President, Vice Presidents, Officers and Trustees of the HAA, Officers of Member societies, Individual Members, Officers of Groups of Member Societies (including Arts Councils, Associations, and Co-operatives), and Associate & Full Members.
Successful nominees and nominators will be notified.
PURPOSE OF THE AWARDS.
• Expression of appreciation for outstanding contributions to the Arts for the public good.
• Publicising the rightful place for the HAA in Arts Matters in the Borough.
• Encouraging Art Societies and Groups to look more closely at the contributions made by their individual members.
